Terms of Service

1. Purpose

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Mongle Haru mobile application and related services (the "Service") provided by the Mongle Haru operator (the "Operator"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

2. Definitions

  1. "Service" means the sticker-based emotional diary app Mongle Haru and its features (diary, sticker collection and shop, Mongle Mailbox, cloud backup, paid subscriptions, and others).
  2. "User" means anyone who uses the Service under these Terms.
  3. "Mongle Mailbox" means the feature that lets Users send letters to their Mongle characters and receive replies.
  4. "Paid Service" means any feature provided for a fee, such as auto-renewing subscriptions.

3. Effect and Changes to the Terms

  1. These Terms take effect when posted in the Service or on the official website.
  2. The Operator may amend these Terms within the bounds of applicable law. Changes will be announced at least 7 days before they take effect (30 days for changes unfavorable to Users), together with the effective date and reasons.
  3. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.

4. The Service

  1. The Operator provides: diary writing and browsing, mood sticker records, sticker collection and shop, widgets, optional cloud backup, the optional Mongle Mailbox, optional paid subscriptions, and other features determined by the Operator.
  2. Diary data is stored on your device and is not transmitted to external servers unless you enable cloud backup.
  3. The Service may include advertising.

5. Accounts and Sign-In

  1. The diary can be used without creating an account.
  2. Some features, such as the Mongle Mailbox and cloud backup, require signing in with a Google or Apple account.
  3. You must not allow third parties to use your account. The Operator is not liable for losses caused by your failure to keep your account secure, except where the Operator is at fault.

6. Mongle Mailbox and AI Replies

  1. Replies in the Mongle Mailbox are created with generative AI. Replies are creative works written in the voice of a character and do not provide factual verification or professional judgment.
  2. AI replies are not a substitute for medical or mental-health care, diagnosis, treatment, legal or financial advice, or emergency support. In a crisis, please contact a professional service.
  3. The Mongle Mailbox is available only to Users aged 14 or older.
  4. Letters must not contain other people's personal information, content that infringes others' rights, abusive or hateful language, or unlawful content. Violations may result in replies being withheld or use of the feature being restricted.
  5. The processing of letter and reply data is described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Paid Services and Payment

  1. Payment and refunds for Paid Services follow the policies and procedures of the app market where you made the purchase (Apple App Store or Google Play).
  2. Auto-renewing subscriptions renew and charge automatically at the end of each period unless canceled. You can cancel in your app market's subscription settings.
  3. Purchases made by minors without the consent of a legal guardian may be canceled by the guardian in accordance with applicable law.

  1. You own the content you create, such as diary entries and letters.
  2. For mailbox letters only, the Operator may process your content to generate and deliver replies, operate and improve the Service, and keep it safe.
  3. Intellectual property rights in the Service's characters, stickers, and designs belong to the Operator. You may use them only within the scope of using the Service.

10. Changes and Suspension of the Service

  1. The Operator may change or discontinue all or part of the Service for operational or technical reasons. Material changes unfavorable to Users will be announced in advance.
  2. Features provided in beta, such as the Mongle Mailbox, may change or end after prior notice.

11. Disclaimer

  1. The Operator is not liable for Service interruptions caused by force majeure such as natural disasters or telecommunications failures.
  2. The Operator is not liable for diary data loss caused by failing to back up before changing or deleting a device, except where the Operator is at fault.
  3. AI replies are creative works. The Operator is not liable for outcomes resulting from relying on them as professional advice, except where the Operator is at fault.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are interpreted under the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes arising from use of the Service will be brought before the competent court under the Civil Procedure Act.
